"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
-- Psalm 34:18
Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters,
This letter comes to you from a place of both deep sorrow and deep gratitude. As many of you know, Pastor Tony Weedor went home to be with the Lord in March 2024 -- and the months since have been unlike any I have walked before.
And yet, God has been faithful. The schools in Liberia remained open. The teachers showed up. The students kept learning. The ministry did not stop -- because the God who called us to this work has not stopped calling.
Enrollment at an All-Time High
Despite the grief of this year, we are praising God for record enrollment at both campuses. More families than ever are choosing Petals of Hope for their children -- drawn by the reputation of our teachers, the safety of our campuses, and the Christ-centered environment we strive to maintain.
This growth is a gift -- and also a responsibility. More students means more need: more desks, more teachers, more meals, more support. We are grateful for every partner who has stepped in to help meet these needs.
Construction Beginning Soon
We are moving forward with plans to break ground on the PHI-2 High School building later this year. This has been one of Tony's deepest dreams -- to give our graduating girls a safe, excellent place to continue their education. We are pressing forward in his honor and in faith that God will provide every dollar needed.
Prayer Requests
- 1.
Pray for Elizabeth as she leads the ministry into a new season -- for strength, wisdom, and the peace that surpasses understanding.
- 2.
Pray for the students and staff who are also carrying grief this year. May God's comfort and presence be real to each of them.
- 3.
Pray for the PHI-2 construction project -- for provision, skilled workers, and safety as the building goes up.
- 4.
Pray for new monthly partners to join the ministry -- consistent support makes long-term planning possible.
